“Estudantes” derrotaram o Almeida Garrett na final
Foi um título alcançado sem conhecer o sabor da derrota. A Bartolomeu Perestrelo sagrou-se campeã nacional no escalão de Sub 16 feminino. As comandadas de António Florido derrotaram na final, as gaienses do Almeida Garrett, por 23-20, embora no final do tempo regulamentar do jogo se tivesse registado uma igualdade a 20 golos. O desempate foi feito por marcação de livres de sete metros, com a vitória a sorrir às “estudantes” madeirenses. Até à final, a BP eliminou o Gil Eanes nas meias-finais vencendo por 24-20, enquanto na fase inicial afastou o Lagoa AC (27-15), Alpendorada (27-22) e Feirense (29-23).
No derradeiro encontro, destaque para Leonor Gomes (6 golos), Júlia Cortez Ferreira (5 golos) e Sofia Vieira (4 golos), que foram as “mais produtivas” em termos ofensivos, numa equipa que contou ainda com mais cinco jogadoras a marcar golos.
“Sinto-me um treinador privilegiado. Poucos têm a felicidade de conquistar um título nacional pelo mesmo clube em duas gerações diferentes. Tive a honra de fazer parte da conquista do Campeonato Nacional de Sub-16 Femininas na época 2009/2010 e, dezasseis anos depois, volto a viver este momento inesquecível ao serviço deste grande clube. Hoje, escrevemos uma das páginas mais marcantes da história do Clube Desportivo Bartolomeu Perestrelo”, começou por afirmar o técnico das novas campeãs nacional, “Tozé”. E prosseguiu: “Conquistámos o Campeonato Nacional Sub-16 Feminino, em Viseu, numa final emocionante decidida nos 7 metros, após um percurso extraordinário. Só um grupo desta dimensão humana e competitiva consegue chegar a uma final nacional e vencer nos 7 metros. Quero deixar um agradecimento muito especial à Direção da Escola Bartolomeu Perestrelo pelo apoio extraordinário que tem prestado ao nosso clube”.

It was a title won without ever tasting defeat. Bartolomeu Perestrelo were crowned national champions in the Under-16 Women's category. António Florido's side beat Almeida Garrett of Gaia in the final, 23-20, although regulation time had ended level at 20-20. The tie-break was decided on 7-metre throws, with victory smiling on the Madeira “Estudantes”. I had the honour of being part of the Under-16 Women's National Championship win in the 2009/2010 season, and sixteen years later, I get to live this unforgettable moment again with this great club. Today, we wrote one of the most memorable pages in the history of Clube Desportivo Bartolomeu Perestrelo,” said the coach of the new national champions, “Tozé”. He continued: “We won the Under-16 Women's National Championship in Viseu, in an emotional final decided on 7-metre throws, after an extraordinary journey. Only a group with this level of human quality and competitiveness can reach a national final and win it on 7-metre throws. I want to give special thanks to the board of Escola Bartolomeu Perestrelo for the extraordinary support they have given our club.”
